Based on the following problem: is the skill of oral expression effectively taught in the secondary cycle? this article presents an observation of the place occupied by the oral expression in the teaching of FLE in Algeria: Our investigation touched on classes established in the following wilayas (Oran, Sidi Bel Abbès, Saida, Naama, and El Bayadh). At the end of a survey based on the observation of a few oral comprehension and expression sessions, as well as on a questionnaire submitted to teachers of the first year of secondary school, we were able to deduce that neither the sufficient time nor the means have been mobilized to carry out the teaching/learning of this skill.

انطلاقاً من الإشكالية التالية:هل تدرس كفاءة التعبير الشفوي للغة الفرنسية كلغة أجنبية تدريساً فعالاً في الطور الثانوي؟ يقدّم هذا المقال ملاحظات عن المكانة التي يشغلها التعبير الشفوي في تعليم الفرنسية كلغة أجنبية في الجزائر.ولقد مسّالتحقيق الذي أجريناه أقساماً متواجدة في الولايات التالية (وهران، سيدي بلعباس، سعيدة، النعامة، البيض). وفي نهاية التحقيق المبني على ملاحظة سير بعض دروس الفهم والتعبير الشفويين، وكذلك على استجواب لفائدة أساتذة السنة الأولى من التعليم الثانوي، وصلنا للخلاصة التالية والتي مفادها أنه لا الوقت الكافي ولا الإمكانيات اللازمة قد وضعت لضمان تعليم/تعلم جيد وفعال لهذه القدرة.

Cet article présente une observation de la place qu’occupe l’oral dans l’enseignement du FLE en Algérie : Notre enquête a touché des classes implantées dans les wilayas suivantes (Oran, Sidi Bel Abbès, Saida, Naama et El Bayadh). Notre problématique est la suivante : la compétence de l’expression orale est-elle enseignée efficacement dans le cycle secondaire ? Au terme d’une enquête basée sur l’observation du déroulement de quelques séances de compréhension et d’expression orale, ainsi que sur un questionnaire soumis à des enseignants de première année secondaire, nous avons pu déduire que ni le temps suffisant ni les moyens adéquats n’ont été mobilisés afin de mener à bien l’enseignement/apprentissage de cette habileté.
