In light of a Maghrebi literary heritage deeply marked by problematic filial dynamics, the present contribution seeks to examine the redefinition of the paternal figure in Fateh Boumahdi’s Et si mon père avait une âme d’enfant (What if my father had a child’s soul). The main objective is to elucidate the movement of rupture that underlies the novel – a departure from archetypal representations, those of the protective and affectionate father- in favor of a more human perspective on this long-static figure. Our analysis highlights the reality of a traumatic dissonance between the child’s idealistic expectations and a fundamentally fallible paternal condition, characterized by shortcomings, clumsiness, but also love and tenderness. It endeavors to explore how the adult’s critical perspective allows for a revaluation of the paternal figure, once it is grasped in its full humanity, while simultaneously outlinging the contours of a truly cathartic reconciliation.

في ضوء تراث أدبي مغاربي مطبوع بعمق بديناميكيات الأبوة الإشكالية، تسعى هذه المساهمة إلى دراسة إعادة النظر في شخصية الأب في رواية Et si mon père avait une âme d’enfant لفاتح بومهدي. الهدف الرئيسي هو توضيح مبدأ المخالفة التي تقوم عليه الرواية - وهو خروج عن التمثيلات النمطية، تمثّيلات الأب الحنون والحامي - لصالح منظور أكثر إنسانية لهذه الشخصية . يسلط تحليلنا الضوء على واقع التنافر الصادم بين توقعات الطفل المثالية اتجاه الأب وجوهر الأبوة الغير كامل، والتي قد تتسم أحيانا بالقصور و الخرق ولكن أيضًا بالحب والحنان. كما تتطرق هذه الدراسة الى شرح اختلاف المنظور النقدي للبالغين الذي يسمح بإعادة تقييم أكثرة حيادا للشخصية الأبوية بمجرد استيعابها في إنسانيتها الكاملة، اضافة الى تحديد ملامح مصالحة حقيقية تبعث على الشفاء.

À la lumière d’un héritage littéraire maghrébin fortement marqué par des dynamiques filiales problématiques, la présente contribution se propose d’examiner la redéfinition de la figure paternelle dans Et si mon père avait une âme d’enfant de Fateh Boumahdi. Le principal objectif est d’expliciter le mouvement de rupture qui sous-tend le roman vis-à-vis des représentations archétypales, celles du père protecteur et affectueux, en faveur d’un regard plus humain sur cette figure longtemps figée. Notre analyse met en lumière la réalité d’une dissonance traumatique entre les attentes idéalistes de l’enfant et une condition paternelle foncièrement faillible, faite de manquements, de maladresse, mais aussi d’amour et de tendresse. Elle s’attache à interroger la manière dont la perspective critique de l’adulte permet une revalorisation de l’instance paternelle, dès lors qu’elle est appréhendée dans sa pleine humanité, en même temps qu’elle esquisse les contours d’une réconciliation véritablement cathartique.
