The late Habiba Msika’s biography and her swinging between arts: shining, glow then stillness

Biographical films that are made as a tribute to historical, cultural, and scientific figures, have always aroused the interest of the public to learn more about the real-life personalities around whom the events of the motion pictures revolve. And if a biographical narrative movie has a historical character, manifested through authentic historical facts that the director embodied through it, then it becomes qualified to be a reference for researchers, along with scientific books and articles. In this context, our research dealing with the career of the defunct Tunisian artist Habiba Msika, who challenged the director Salma Bakkar the lack of the historical references dealing with her life, to make her tape “Dance of Fire”, which combines the two genres, biographical and peplum, as a presentation of the life of this artist and a catalyst for the curiosity of viewers who discover her through the film, or those recalling their past memories, to carry out further research and scrutiny, or perhaps an incentive to enrich the research library with references about her career and historical period, while emphasizing the richness of this artist’s vocation despite her artistic life has not exceeded two decades.

لطالما أثارت أفلام السّير الذّاتيّة عن الشّخصيّات التّاريخيّة والثقافية والعلمية المجسّدة بها، اهتمام الجمهور لمعرفة المزيد عن الشخصيات الواقعية التي تدور أحداث الأشرطة حولها. وإذا اكتسى شريط روائيّ بيوغرافيّ بطابع تاريخيّ متجلّ عبر وقائع تاريخيّة صحيحة قام المخرج بتجسيدها عبره، فانّه بذلك يصبح مؤهّلا أن يكون مرجعا للباحثين، شأنه شأن الكتب والمقالات العلمية.
وفي هدا الاطار يندرج بحثنا المتناول لمسيرة الفنانة التونسية الراحلة حبيبة مسيكة، والتي تحدّت المخرجة سلمى بكّار الشّحّ في المراجع التّاريخيّة المتناولة لحياتها، لتجعل شريطها «رقصة النّار» الجامع بين الصنفين البيوغرافي والبيبلوم، بمثابة عرض لحياة هذه الفنّانة ومحفّز لفضول المشاهدين المكتشفين لها من خلال الشريط، او المسترجعين لذكرياتهم الخوالي، للقيام بمزيد من البحث والتمحيص او ربما تحفيز على اثراء المكتبة البحثية بمراجع حول مسيرتها وفترتها التاريخية، مع التّأكيد على ثراء مسيرة هذه الفنانة رغم عدم تجاوز حياتها الفنّيّة لعقدين من الزّمن.

Les films biographiques sur les personnages historiques, culturels et scientifiques, qu’ils valorisent, ont toujours intrigué le public qui souhaite enrichir son savoir autour desdits personnages. Et si un film biographique de fiction dispose d’une dimension réelle, manifestée par des faits historiques que le réalisateur ait mis en scène, il devient alors éligible à être classé comme une référence pour les chercheurs, de pair avec les livres et les articles scientifiques qui touchent le même sujet. Et c’est dans ce contexte que notre recherche se projette sur le parcours de la défunte artiste tunisienne Habiba Msika, que la réalisatrice Salma Baccar a défié la rareté des références historiques traitant sa vie, faisant ainsi de son film « La Danse du feu », une combinaison des genres biographique et péplum, voire un enrichissement des références historiques portant sur cette artiste tunisienne pluridisciplinaire tout en stimulant la curiosité des spectateurs pour investiguer plus profondément, tout en soulignant la richesse de la carrière de cette artiste malgré le fait que sa vie artistique n’a pas excédé deux décennies.
