The issue of the civilizational criticism is one of the most visible and intellectual issues handled by the thinker “Hisham Charabi” throughout his intellectual and academic life, addressing mainly in this type of criticism dilemmas and the reasons behind the backwardness of Arab society. He adopted a special approach using the ideological Marxist quotes and the concepts of the analytical school of Freud and founding a unique approach called Freudian/Marxist approach. He concluded through this approach that the Patriarchal system embedded inside the social, cultural, economic and political systems of the Arab society is dedicated to the backwardness values. The way to change this reality, he thought, is to break up and rebuild this concept.

تعدّ مسألة النقد الحضاري من أبرز وأهم القضايا الفكرية التي عالجها المفكر هشام شرابي طوال عقود من حياته الفكرية والأكاديمية، متناولا أساسا في هذا النوع من النقد معضلات وأسباب تخلف المجتمع العربي، منتهجا منهجا مميزا مستعملا فيه مقولات الإيديولوجية الماركسية ومفاهيم المدرسة التحليلية لفرويد ومؤسسا على ضوء هذا مقاربة فريدة تدعى المقاربة الفرويدية / الماركسية، ومستنتجا من خلال هذا النهج أو الرؤية أن النظام الأبوي (البطركي) المتغلغل داخل منظومات المجتمع العربي الاجتماعية والثقافية والاقتصادية والسياسية هو المكرس لقيم التخلف والعجز فيها. ومنه فإن السبيل لتغيير هذا الواقع-حسبه -هو خلخلة وإعادة بناء هذا المفهوم.

La question de la critique civilisée est considérée comme l’une des questions intellectuelles les plus importantes traitées par le penseur palestinien Hicham CHARABI durant des décennies de sa vie intellectuelle et académique. Il a pris essentiellement dans ce genre de critique les contraintes et les causalités du sous-développement de la société arabe, et ce, en suivant une méthode spécifique faisant appel à des dictons idéologico-marxistes ainsi qu’aux concepts fondamentaux de l’école de la psychanalyse de Freud, en baptisant à la lumière de cela une approche unique en son genre, appelée ‘’ l’approche freudienne / marxiste’’. Il déduit à la suite de cette méthode ou vision, c’est que le « système "Patriarcal » circule à l’intérieur des systèmes arabes sur tous les plans ; social, culturel, économique et politique. Ces facteurs favorisent les principes du sous-développement et de le handicap de es peuples. A cet effet, et afin de changer cette réalité, selon le penseur en question, la voix serait donc la destruction puis la reconstruction de ce concept.
