Methodological problems facing media and communication students in light of the new digital environment A fieldexploratory study on a sample of students at the University of Bouira

This research paper seeks to attempt to identify the most important research problems faced by researchers and students at the Algerian university while dealing with topics related to media and communication. With the introduction of new media into the world of scientific and academic research in particular, its entry has contributed to strengthening theoretical knowledge about it and improving the methodological procedures that can be applied. In research to dissect the communication phenomena that are essentially related to their uses, opening a wide debate about the “legitimacy” of considering new media as a new creative field at the research level that must be thought about in modern research frameworks far from everything that is traditional. The Algerian University and the departments of media and communication sciences in particular had the best luck in new media studies and research that addressed the media and communication action related to digital media from different aspects and various research angles. This research often encountered many obstacles and problems, some of which were related to the methods that could be used and others related to the practical applications of these media and their socio-behavioral effects, and a third related to the research overlap between these new media and their classical counterparts. From this standpoint, this research paper came to diagnose the methodological and research problems facing media and communication students in particular And it hinders scientific research in media and communication sciences, starting from choosing the research topic and controlling its variables, through the various steps that the researcher goes through, all the way to formulating, analyzing, and interpreting the results, as well as the inability to project the theoretical knowledge of the research and apply it through the research tools used in the digital environment. This study was based on a questionnaire that was conducted with researchers in the field of media and communication sciences - bachelor’s and master’s students - at the University of Bouira. -Algeria.

تسعى هذه الورقة البحثية إلى محاولة حصر أهم المشاكل البحثية التي يواجهها الباحثون والطلبة في الجامعة الجزائرية أثناء تعاملهم مع موضوعات مرتبطة بالإعلام والاتصال، إذ مع إقحام وسائط الإعلام الجديد في عالم البحوث العلمية والأكاديمية تحديدا، ساهم دخولها في تعزيز المعارف التنظيرية حولها وتحسين الإجراءات المنهجية الممكن تطبيقها بحثياً لتشريح الظواهر الاتصالية المرتبطة أساسا باستخداماتها، فاتحةً جدلا واسعا حول “مشروعية” اعتبار الإعلام الجديد حقلا خلاقا جديدا على المستوى البحثي وجب التفكير له في أطر بحثية حديثة بعيدة عن كل ما هو تقليدي، إنّ الجامعة الجزائرية وأقسام علوم الإعلام والاتصال تحديدا كان لها الحظ الأوفر في دراسات الإعلام الجديد والبحوث التي عالجت الفعل الإعلامي والاتصالي المرتبط بالوسائط الرقمية من جوانب مختلفة وزوايا بحثية متنوعة، وهي البحوث التي كثيراً ما اصطدمت بعوائق ومشاكل عديدة، بعضها مرتبط بالمناهج الممكن استعمالها وبعضها الأخر مرتبط بالتطبيقات العملية لهذه الوسائط وتأثيراتها السوسيوسلوكية، وأخرى ثالثة مرتبطة بالتداخل البحثي بين وسائل الإعلام الجديدة هذه ونظيرتها الكلاسيكية. ومن هذا المنطلق جاءت هذه الورقة البحثية لتشخّص المشكلات المنهجية والبحثية التي تواجه طلبة الإعلام والاتصال خصوصا، وتعيق البحث العلمي في علوم الإعلام والاتصال بدءً من اختيار موضوع البحث وضبط متغيراته، مرورا بمختلف الخطوات التي يمر بها الباحث وصولا إلى صياغة النتائج وتحليلها وتفسريها، وكذا عدم القدرة على إسقاط المعارف النظرية الخاصة بالبحث وتطبيقها من خلال الأدوات البحثية المستخدمة في البيئة الرقمية الجديدة، وقد اعتمدت هذه الدراسة على استمارة الاستبيان التي أجريت مع الباحثين في مجال علوم الإعلام والاتصال- طلبة ليسانس- وماستر- بجامعة البويرة. –الجزائر.

Ce document de recherche cherche à tenter d’identifier les problèmes de recherche les plus importants auxquels sont confrontés les chercheurs et les étudiants de l’université algérienne lorsqu’ils abordent des sujets liés aux médias et à la communication. Avec l’introduction des nouveaux médias dans le monde de la recherche scientifique et académique en particulier, son entrée a contribué à renforcer les connaissances théoriques à son sujet et à améliorer les procédures méthodologiques pouvant être appliquées. Dans une recherche visant à décortiquer les phénomènes de communication essentiellement liés à leurs usages, ouvrir un large débat sur la « légitimité » de considérer les nouveaux médias comme un nouveau champ créatif au niveau de la recherche qui doit être pensé dans des cadres de recherche modernes loin de tout ce qui est traditionnel. L’Université algérienne et les départements des sciences des médias et de la communication en particulier ont eu la meilleure chance dans les études et recherches sur les nouveaux médias qui abordaient l’action médiatique et communicationnelle liée aux médias numériques sous différents aspects et sous divers angles de recherche. Cette recherche s’est souvent heurtée à de nombreux obstacles et problèmes, dont certains étaient liés aux méthodes qui pouvaient être utilisées et d’autres liés aux applications pratiques de ces médias et à leurs effets socio-comportementaux, et un troisième lié à la chevauchement des recherches entre ces nouveaux médias. et leurs homologues classiques. De ce point de vue, ce travail de recherche est venu diagnostiquer les problèmes méthodologiques et de recherche auxquels sont confrontés en particulier les étudiants en médias et communication. Et il entrave la recherche scientifique en sciences des médias et de la communication, à partir du choix du sujet de recherche et du contrôle de ses variables, à travers les différentes étapes que le Le chercheur traverse, jusqu’à la formulation, l’analyse et l’interprétation des résultats, ainsi que l’incapacité de projeter les connaissances théoriques de la recherche et de les appliquer à travers les outils de recherche utilisés dans l’environnement numérique.
